Karen Van Kooy joined the Law Offices of Laurie Israel in 2007 and together, they founded Israel, Van Kooy & Days, LLC in 2010. In her family law work, Karen is an experienced and compassionate attorney, representing clients in all aspects of family creation and reformation: from prenuptial planning through divorce and post-divorce modifications. Karen uses Collaborative Law, Mediation and a court-based approach, depending on the needs and preferences of her client. Karen is also available for Limited Assistance Representation (LAR). In her estate planning work, Karen assists individuals and couples in establishing wills and trusts to provide for their loved ones.
Laura Days joined the Law Offices of Laurie Israel in March, 2005 to pursue her legal interests in Real Estate transactions, Estate Planning, Probate Administration, Small Business Creation, and Taxation. She is now a member/partner in Israel, Van Kooy & Days, LLC. She has significant experience in residential real estate transactions and condominium conversions, having working as a real estate paralegal during law school prior to her ten years of experience as an attorney. In addition to managing the real estate practice at Israel, Van Kooy & Days, LLC, Laura also works with clients in all areas of estate planning, estate taxation, drafting of Wills and Trusts, and the probate of estates..
Matthew Solomon joined the Law Office of Israel, Van Kooy & Days, LLC in October 2014 to practice in the areas of family law, residential and commercial real estate, estate planning, and probate administration. He has significant experience in restaurant law and alcohol licensing. Prior to joining Israel, Van Kooy & Days, LLC, he operated a solo practice for six years and was also a special education high school teacher in Boston and Oakland, California. Matthew is expanding his practice to include mediation.
Heather Hoffman is of-counsel to the firm in real estate, real estate titles and conveyancing. She is also a great resource to the firm for consulting on a variety of real estate, estate administration, and tax issues.
Victoria Ellsworth joined the firm as a paralegal in 2007. Aside from her paralegal duties, she handles many of the administrative, accounting and marketing aspects of the firm. Tori holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. Her keen interest in human behavior and inter-personal relationships, her highly accomplished computer skills and her significant administrative management experience have made Tori a welcome addition. Since joining the team, she has worked on many family law cases, and has taken Collaborative Law and Mediation trainings.
Philippina Loh is one of our firm’s administrative assistant. She has been a wonderful presence in the firm since 2001.
